TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read this page carefully before submitting a request for editing services.

INITIAL INFORMATION

After you have submitted your request, we will discuss your project, the proposed turnaround time, and the fee. You will receive a customized drafted Client Agreement. By using the form on this website, you agree to the language of the Agreement as-is. Before I can begin working on your project, I will need to receive your electronic signature, as well as the deposit for 50% of your editing fee. The remaining 50% of the fee will be due upon completion of your project, before your project is returned.

EDITORIAL SERVICES

My goal is to provide you with the best feedback I can possibly give you in order for your manuscript to be polished. Once you receive the feedback, the revision is up to you. Revision, rewriting, ghostwriting, or co-writing services are not included in any package and should not be expected. You will receive a manuscript with feedback, notes, and markup for proofreading, but it will be up to you to make the most of the feedback.

SUBMISSION AND PROJECT RETURN INSTRUCTIONS

All submissions must be formatted with standard 1" margins, double spaced, with 12-point font, and sent as a Word .doc or .docx attachment. The attachment must be submitted through Dropbox or Google Drive. I will provide submission instructions during our discussion of your project.

All feedback will be done electronically. Notes will be provided in a Word document, and line edits will use Word's Track Changes function. Please make sure you can transmit and receive files electronically, and are capable of reading Track Changes comments in Microsoft Word or a similar program.

Your manuscript and feedback will be returned via a Dropbox download link. The link will expire after seven days. You will be responsible for downloading the files or transferring them to your own Dropbox immediately. If the link expires before you are able to claim your project, you will be subjected to a $25 administrative fee to have a new download link provided to you.

REVISIONS

If you have received my feedback, applied the changes, and want me to take another look, you will be charged for only 50% of the original editing fee you paid. That discount stays the same no matter how many revisions you resubmit.

PREMIUM TURNAROUND

There will be a 25% fee premium if you need a turnaround for manuscripts up to 50,000 words within one week, or for manuscripts 100,000+ words within three weeks.

GUARANTEE

By no means can I guarantee that you will achieve publication or literary representation as a result of my services. As stated above, my goal is to make your manuscript the best it can be, but I have no control over the literary market. However, your manuscript will stand a much better chance once it is edited compared to not being edited.

PAYMENT POLICY

For all services rendered, my non-negotiable policy is to receive a deposit of half the total fee before I begin and the balance upon completion of the project. You will receive an invoice when the project is finished. After the invoice has been paid, then your project will be returned. All prices are quoted in US dollars. Fees may be paid via credit card or PayPal.

DISCOUNTS AND REFERRALS

There will be a 15% discount for all repeat clients. There will be a 20% discount for you if you refer another client to me. The client must let me know you referred them before they sign their Client Agreement in order for you to receive the Referral Discount on your next editing service.

REFUNDS

Once I begin working on your project, payment will not be refunded. If I have not yet started, then you may send me a written request to terminate the agreement, and I will refund your payment within one week of receiving your request.

TESTIMONIALS

Upon completion of our work together, I may solicit a testimonial from you about my services. It is completely up to you if you would like to provide one, but it is encouraged. If you do, it will be published with your first name and last initial on this website.

PRIVACY POLICY

I value the work relationship I have with clients. I would never sell, trade, or abuse your personal information in any way. Please note that I also will never share, expose, or disclose your project. You worked extremely hard on your manuscript, and it is solely your choice when you are ready to share it with the world.
